Well, again we have changed our space! We deserted the room we were looking at completely, we will still use it to prop the projector in there, but we are going to project down the small hallway next to the art theory rooms. We choose this space because it relates to our ideas - the ideas of inner space.. We want to invite the viewers to walk a little down the hallway, the image being projected throughout, immersing the viewer into the space, without them obscuring the images (we are going to prop the projector quite high).
We have two pieces of footage, one I put together, and the one Josh compiled. Our footage is fairly similar but Josh abstracted his footage more through premiere effects. I took the most effective experiments I did earlier and pasted them together. I overlaid the footage, so each bit melds into the other. I also slowed it down a lot. After watching Brian Eno's work, it really inspired me to slow down my piece. To me, this effect lets you take everything in, it makes everything seem calmer, almost like you start meditating after looking at it for so long. That's what I wanted my piece to be about, meditation, the actual images is kind of the thing I see when I meditate. The start, a bright light.. is what I see before I close my eyes, then the after-burn of the light I was looking at, fading to darkness, this after-burn turns into flowing colours as I begin to meditate. I wanted my piece to be calming but at the same time, I wanted it to still remain abstract open to interpretation as everyone has a different idea of inner space.
