Our group decided to focus on three visual things for our project. We decided to all capture some footage and bring it back and see what we come up with.
Our Themes:
-The after-burn you get when staring at a bright light and close your eyes.
-Seeing something corner of your eye, or feeling some presence in a space with you.
- A journey inward, through a space etc.
I choose to mainly focus on seeing something in the corner of your eye, and also the afterburn.. And combining these ideas. I kept it pretty ambiguous and make it sort of abstract. I tried several techniques, such as controlled lighting, keeping the camera out of focus, blowing onto the lens, steaming up a room and looking at lights.. the presence I tried to capture is merely pieces of clothing, I also put the camera upside-down in a lot of these shots - just to keep it more abstract.. I also used some old dance lights. (I really like those ones.. they look out of the norm)
-VIDEO-
The only issue with the video is the grain - annoying! It looked fine on the camera, not sure what I've done to make it grainy, maybe I need to adjust the settings on my camera. I do like a lot of this footage though, maybe adding a blur would get rid of the grain. Best ask for the advice of my group. :)
