We were said to look up the term "sense of place", I looked up the meaning, I found several interesting examples that I will try and explain in my own words.
1. The emotional attachment to a space. A space that has a history, memories; a narrative. Also could be the opposite - the fear a space might evoke.
2. A space almost having a presence, like the "soul" of a place.
3. There is also "placenessness", everyday spaces with no value or attachment. A mundane space that is the same everywhere - like a fast food store.
4. A space from within, a space created in the mind perhaps a spiritual space. This might also relate to a void of space, unexplainable place like the subconcious. Basically all spaces that are not physical.
I'm most interested in 4, it seems the most open and could perhaps develop into something interesting. :) I will discuss these types of spaces with my group next Friday.
